“Getting a piece through Essential has become sort of a rite of passage for the GA playwright I think,” said Mikel in an interview before LILLIAN LIKES IT opened this past August, “It’s an amazing and necessary thing to have a company that pulls from the local talent here, and I’m so stoked to be a part of it.”
What did he have to say after the production closed? Well this is the post he shared with the LILLIAN cast and crew after the show closed:
“A huge heartfelt holy crap thank you to Peter, Xander, Antonia, Alyssa, Pat, Tyler, Ben, Christie, Jennifer, Shannon Eubanks, and the rest of The Essential Theatre for doing such justice to Lillian Likes It, and thanks to everyone who made the time and dropped some change to catch a show. It means so much. I apologize to my non-ATL friends for harping on it so much, but seriously I couldn’t be happier and prouder of their work. It was a real gift.
