Spotlight on Essential Artist: Amber Bradshaw
As the dust settles from this summer’s festival and we’re looking ahead to our next Bare Essentials reading, I got to spend some time with Amber Bradshaw. Amber is directing the next Bare Essentials reading on September 30, but she has been a backbone of Essential’s play development work for years. Read on to hear her thoughts on developing new plays, working with Essential and The End of William Henry, our next Bare Essentials reading this coming Thursday night.
Tell us a little about yourself as an artist. What kinds of projects do you most enjoy working on?
Multiple premieres for Daryl Fazio
We’ve been updating you for months now on the world premiere production of Daryl’s Split in Three, which closed last weekend at Florida Rep, but now Daryl is going international! Actors Repertory Theatre Luxembourg is producing the European Premiere of her play, Greyhounds, June 2-7.
This is tremendously exciting news, and we’re not the only ones who think so. Here is just some of what Actors Rep has to say about Daryl and their upcoming production:

“Magnetic” 50th Anniversary production of PHILADELPHIA, HERE I COME!
Essential’s Artistic Director Peter Hardy was onstage with several other familiar faces in Aris Theatre’s second-ever production, the just-closed PHILADELPHIA, HERE I COME!
An excellent production of a classic but rarely produced play, an ArtsATL review called it “Magnetic” and “a signal of the kind of classy work the company seems capable of.”
